Level 5 Attachment-Based Psychotherapy

As a tutor with Optima Attachment Training, I lead our Level 5 programme designed specifically for qualified counsellors. This advanced training provides a deep dive into attachment-informed practice, offering a space for rigorous clinical reflection and practical skill building.

September 2026 cohort is now full.

Applications are now open for the September 2027 cohort. Spaces are strictly limited to ensure high-quality support and clinical focus. Entry is subject to a successful interview. We explore complex relational dynamics, helping you integrate attachment theory into your unique therapeutic voice.

"I have recently completed a diploma in Attachment-based Psychotherapy with Darren.

Right from our initial conversation, I found Darren to be warm empathic and encouraging. Darren’s approach to training is engaging, fun and creative, enabling a learning environment which accommodated different learning styles and needs.

Darren was able to bring his vast knowledge and experience in a truly authentic yet meaningful way. Darren’s training has made a hugely positive impact for me, both personally and professionally."

Training for Foster Carers and Fostering Services

Understanding the complexities of attachment is vital for those caring for children who have experienced early life trauma. My training for foster carers and services focuses on translating high-level theory into the practical, day-to-day interactions that build felt safety and trust. By fostering an attachment-informed environment, we provide the stability children need to begin their healing journey.

These sessions are designed to be reflective and deeply practical, ensuring that service providers and carers leave with a toolkit of responses that honor the child's internal experience while supporting the carer's own emotional well-being.
